Embracing Stillness: A Tranquil Sunday Afternoon
It’s a slow, soothing, and relaxing Sunday afternoon. The clock reads 3:23PM. I started off the day by waking up at 8:20AM due to the annoying sound of my alarm. The sound of my alarm sounds like glitter and sparkles. I jumped out of bed, not literally, and quickly got dressed for church. I only go to church to please my sweet beloved christian parents, I, myself am not religious. In fact, going to church everyday has become part of my Sunday routine, but I do NOT enjoy a single second of it. Anyways my outfit today was corduroy pants with a boot cut, and long sleeve navy blue shirt that my Tia Pina gifted to me about a year ago. Of course my shoes were the black and pink Adidas Court VL 3.0, these are my signature shoes for most outfits. I moved across my room quickly making sure I did not wake up my older sister, Estela. She is an EXTREMELY light sleeper even the sound of a pin dropping will wake her up! I made my way to the bathroom to take my morning piss. I do not think I have to explain about what that or how it was, but it is great. I did many simple self-care tasks such as brushing my teeth, combing my hair, washing my face, applying natural-looking makeup, and blowing my nose. I decided to blast Kesha through my bluetooth headphones and dance my way into the kitchen. I believe there is no better way to start the morning off without a dance and some food! My Dad drove us to church around 9:50AM and the entire time I was listening to music through my navy blue JBL headphones. They have super bass and are very affordable compared to other brands. Church began at 10:30AM. Surprisingly it was Pastor’s Day at our church which was hardly mentioned to me. I do not socialize with anyone at church beside my family and close neighbors. Additionally, I ended up having a small crying session in the women’s restroom, but everything felt like too much. In other words, I was becoming extremely self-aware and overwhelmed (one of the worst combinations on Earth). Church ended at 12PM, and oh boy was I ready to leave and walk out the doors of that place. My Dad drove us back home, and I finally decided to be productive and begin my American Democracy homework which was assigned two entire days ago. I normally do not procrastinate that often, but I made sure to get the assignment completed and turned in one time. I showered quickly and listened to relaxing spa lounge music. I am trying to reconnect to my inner self as of recently. It is a new journey I hope to learn something from. It is currently 4:03PM as I type this all out.
Today’s Food of the Day were:
- Breakfast: A cup of Light & Fit Blueberry Yogurt, with half a banana, five mini strawberries, and half a purple plum (fruit + yogurt is a staple into my diet, it is healthy and delicious).
- Lunch: Four mini strawberries, three cubed slices of watermelon, and a chicken wrap with chipotle sauce (shoutout to my father, he made it himself).
- Snack: Another chicken wrap on whole wheat tortilla, with chipotle sauce.
